Self Sabotage That Can Save You

I have a confession to make…

I’m sabotaging myself!

But it’s not the sabotage per say that I’m confessing to, rather the reason behind the sabotage that’s (almost) unbelievable.

In this video I share my “realisation story”, but if you need to get to the juice, watch from [2:21].

Hopefully, this can make sense of something that, at first, seems completely crazy!

I’m afraid of my skin healing completely.

I know that sounds crazy, but if you watched the video,  you’ll know why.

We all have motivations for doing things — some known, some unknown. They can seem like self-sabotage, but ultimately, our bodies and our minds are doing what they think is best for us.

For me, I realised early that my skin condition was acting as a barrier and protective mechanism. It was protecting me from things in life I was struggling to protect myself from. At least that’s the emotional side of it.

We all have an emotional side to our conditions. Or at least that’s what I believe, and know to be true about me.

Knowing, or at least being open to this idea, is an important part of allowing ourselves to heal. It allows us to be kinder to ourselves.  Especially when we’re not doing what we believe to be traditionally best for our bodies.

From awareness comes compassion, and from compassion, we can change it!

Let me know in the comments below if you relate to this, and why. 🙂

Then allow yourself to self-reflect — what’s your body protecting you from?

Lots of love,

xx Jess
