“It is your journey, here are all the tools, I will be your support system, but you go for it! You have to be empowered.”
Eliza Hedley | Millennial Nutritionist
Nutritionist and “Bio Nerd”, Eliza Hedley is both badass and brilliant, empathetic and encyclopedic, candid and caring, and ultimately, an incredible energy I know you’ll LOVE!
*WARNING*: Eliza and I swear (a little) in this Ra chat, we also did this recording (YAY for recordings!!) in Melbourne City, so in the intro, a MASSIVE helicopter goes by… please excuse the outside noise (at times) because the content is great! It’s very conversational, and almost feels like you’re eavesdropping!
Be prepared because Eliza brings all of her badass self to this park bench. It was so fun to see her, and I always learn a lot — now you can too!

SET Qs Summary
It can be so difficult to find a great practitioner, what do you think makes a great practitioner?
- Empathy
- Respect
- Treating everyone like an individual
Everyone’s an individual. You may have had 1000 clients, but not one of those people are the same.
What are 1-3 books that have greatly influenced your life?
- Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
- You’re A Badass by Jen Sincero
- Linchpin by Seth Godin
How has a big mistake, or an apparent mistake set you up for later success?
Many. I can’t think of the specifics, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. That there are no real mistakes in life, just things you learn from. I learn and then forget.
Everything on your current course is going to take you to where you need to be.
What’s a crazy-but-true fact about you? Or three…
I have really small ears… I sucked my thumb until I was eight… and had a lisp as a kid.
What is a bad recommendation you often hear in the health arena, or more specifically in your area of expertise?
Sticking to any dogmatic, or one-way of thinking. Especially with coaches or nutritionists who think “I eat this way and if this works for me…so same for you”.
My purpose is educating people on the powers of food.
I’m not opposed to any branded diet (keto, paleo, vegan etc.), but I’m not about pushing one thing on every-single-person.
The one-size-fits-all model doesn’t work.
If there was one piece of advice you could give women who may be struggling to love the skin they’re in, what would it be?
Embrace it.
Nothing is a mistake.
You’re not a victim.
Don’t feel you have to be a certain way or thing to be accepted, loved or embraced. Be yourself and share your journey, don’t hide, show.
Yeah, you’re going to have shit times and shitty practitioners…
But at the end of the day, know you’re gonna be okay because you’ve got you.
