3 Ways to Clear Psoriasis Without Medication

Psoriasis is reversible.

Yes, the autoimmune condition marked by dry and scaly skin, exacerbated by inflammation in the gut and an overactive immune system can be improved without medications.

Based on scientific evidence, case studies, and my own experience, here are three ways to reverse psoriasis without medication.

Oral health

This is the easiest and most simple way, to get evidence-based results.

So before you roll your eyes and skip this part, know that one study on psoriasis reported 85% of their subjects had a 90% improvement in their skin following the removal of their tonsils, whilst those who kept their tonsils showed no significant improvement.

Why is this relevant?

Tonsils harbour a lot of bacteria and the bacteria in our mouth can wrangle our immune system causing flare-ups. I wrote an entire post outlining the ways you can keep your mouth pristine without having to remove your tonsils (if you don’t want to). Read here.

Broth Fast

This is incredible for gut healing. As the collagen, vitamins and minerals, and healthy fats nourish the gut lining and speed up its repair.

Broth Fasting is where you only eat broth, drink water or herbal teas for a period of time (24+ hours). It allows you to give the digestive system a break, whilst giving it the optimal nutrients to repair and vastly speed up the healing process.

For best results try 3-7 days and in conjunction with colonics.

A veggie broth, bone broth or both are optional.

I use this recipe as a guide, though I make sure I always add these rock star ingredients:

  • Kale: high in vitamin A, C, and K and low in histamine (all speed up skin and gut repair)
  • Wakame seaweed: packed with iron, calcium, magnesium, iodine, omega 3 and a number of other vitamins and minerals.
  • Turmeric: highly anti-inflammatory
  • Shitake mushrooms: contains vitamin D, zinc, and B vitamins (all vital for skin health)
  • Coconut oil: healthy fat ratios that increase the absorption of nutrients

Suggestions: add tomatoes instead of a paste (or none depending on sensitivities), remove nutritional yeast if you have an overgrowth (i.e., candida, SIBO etc.), add bovine collagen if you’re not vegetarian, and cook between 1-4 hours, the longer the better.

Colonics

A colonic cleans out your bowels. This sounds nasty, but can be a calm and therapeutic experience. I recommend your colonic be assisted and a via a closed system for a clean and comfortable experience.

In my own experience, after a colonic (40 minutes of removing waste and toxins), my skin symptoms radically reduce. The inflammation and heat in my body calms right down and within a few days digestion improves.

There are also hundreds of reported cases of people with psoriasis that have colonics every 3 months) to keep their psoriasis at bay.

So they can be a great way to clear psoriasis, but only temporarily if you’re not living a lifestyle conducive to healing. Therefore, having to keep the treatments regular.

For best results use colonics in conjunction with intermittent fasting, broth fasting and the removal of any refined sugars, carbohydrates, and refined foods.

P.S. Of course, the time it takes to heal will depend on the severity.
